This site is operated by TEDxAthens Event Company (“TEDxAthens”, “we”, “our”, “us”), registered at Evrystheos 2, 11854, Athens, Greece. As Data Controller we take your privacy seriously and make every effort to safeguard your personal data. This policy explains what we process, why, who receives it, and what rights you hold.

What we collect and how

Through this site, our forms, our social accounts and our events, we collect information that may identify you directly or indirectly.

Partnership enquiries: the details you choose to submit through the contact form — your name, company, role, email, telephone and the content of your message — together with any material you send us in the course of a conversation about a partnership.

Device and usage data: information about the device you use to reach the site, such as IP address, date and time of access, approximate location, device identifiers, browser type and language preference, along with which pages and case studies are viewed.

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to run the site and understand how its content is used, and social platform tools to reach relevant audiences. Cookies also support ordinary functions such as sharing a page.

How and why we process it

We use your data only as far as necessary for the purposes below, always on a legal basis under the GDPR and applicable Greek law.

  • · Communication: sending you our newsletter or information about TEDxAthens events, where you have opted in.
  • · Legal enforcement: preventing unlawful activity, enforcing these terms, or meeting a requirement of applicable law.
  • · Measurement and advertising: working with third parties to understand use of the site and to present TEDxAthens content to relevant audiences.

Retention

We retain your personal data no longer than is necessary for the purposes set out above. The precise period depends on the purpose, on applicable data protection law, and on periods relating to the commencement of legal actions. For details, write to privacy@tedxathens.com.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we hold such information, we delete it as quickly as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold data about your child, contact privacy@tedxathens.com.

We may disclose personal data to third parties acting on our behalf, such as our website and hosting providers, in order to process it for the purposes above. We may also disclose it where necessary to fulfil a request you have made, or where required by law, court order or governmental regulation, or to support a criminal or legal investigation. We do not sell your personal data.

We take every reasonable measure to keep your data safe from unlawful processing, theft, destruction and unauthorised access, maintaining physical, technical and administrative controls proportionate to the risk.

The site is served over SSL, which encrypts data exchanged between your device and ours.

This site links to other sites, including partner sites, our own channels and video platforms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we accept no responsibility or liability for them. Please check before browsing.

This policy may be updated from time to time; the version date appears above. If we make material changes, we will post notice on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If you do not accept this policy, please stop using the site.
