Scope
By accessing this site, created and managed by TEDxAthens, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, our privacy policy and our cookies policy, in respect of any content provided, accessed or distributed here — video, text, images and all else (“Content”).
All Content included on this site belongs to TEDxAthens and is protected by Greek and international intellectual property law.
TEDxAthens as service provider
This site contains links to third-party providers and to content hosted elsewhere, including films on video platforms and material published by partners. TEDxAthens is not responsible or liable for those sites; review their terms when you visit them.
What you send us
You represent and warrant that any material you submit through our forms — including briefs, logos and other partner material — does not infringe another party’s intellectual property rights or any applicable law.
You agree that content you submit will not infringe any third-party right, and will not slander, defame, libel or invade the privacy or publicity of any person. Where you submit questions, suggestions or comments, you understand they may be used by TEDxAthens and may be edited as long as the meaning is preserved. If you misuse the site in a way that infringes another party’s rights or these terms, we may remove the material, and you agree to indemnify TEDxAthens as set out below.
Copyright and licences
TEDxAthens publishes talks and content produced in Athens and elsewhere. While we work to ensure that everything published is credible and does not infringe the rights of others, content is at times provided by other parties.
If you believe in good faith that content on this site infringes your copyright, you or your representative may send us a notice requesting removal, at privacy@tedxathens.com. The notice should include:
- · your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
- · enough detail to identify the copyrighted work you say has been infringed;
- · identification of the material you claim is infringing, and enough information for us to locate it;
- · a statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- · a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the right concerned;
- · an electronic or physical signature of a person authorised to act for the copyright owner.
Licence to TEDxAthens content
TEDxAthens talk recordings are owned by TEDxAthens and provided on our sites and on our partner site TED.com. Unless indicated otherwise, audio and video files, transcripts and speaker information are licensed under Creative Commons (CC BY–NC–ND 4.0 International), which permits personal and educational use as long as the licence terms and the TEDxAthens talks usage policy are followed.
Except as provided otherwise, you agree not to distribute TEDxAthens content without our prior written authorisation, unless we make the means for that distribution available — for example an embeddable player.
Third-party content and marks
Some content appears here through embedded players; anything provided by those platforms is subject to their own terms and licence requirements.
Where third-party content contains TEDxAthens or TED intellectual property — including marks such as TED, TEDx, TED-Ed and Ideas Worth Spreading — you may not publish, display, distribute or use those marks for any purpose without prior written authorisation.
Personal data
The management and protection of users’ personal data is governed by these terms, the cookies policy, the privacy policy and applicable national and European data protection law (GDPR). We collect and process personal data for specific purposes and always in line with the data protection principles. See the privacy policy for detail.
No warranties
All Content — talks, films, animations, transcripts, case studies and metrics presented here — is made available as is. TEDxAthens offers no warranty of any kind and does not represent that Content will be accurate, complete or error-free, and is not liable for the use, implementation, impact or communication of ideas presented in it.
Release and indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release and waive any claim or liability against TEDxAthens arising in connection with your use of this site. You also agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless TEDxAthens, its parent organisation, officers, directors, employees and third-party licensors against any claims, damages, obligations, losses and liabilities (including legal fees) arising from your use of and access to the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
Limitation of liability
Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall TEDxAthens or its parent organisation, officers, directors, employees, partners or licensors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages resulting from access to, use of, or inability to use TEDxAthens content — including reliance on information, interruptions, errors, defects, omissions, deletion of files, delays in operation or transmission, non-delivery of information, disclosure of communications, or any other failure of performance.
Entire agreement
