BriefThe energy transition, without a defence

Motor Oil needed to talk about the energy transition to a general audience without sounding like an energy company defending itself. The subject matter is technical, politically loaded, and easy to get wrong.

IdeaA presenter, not an executive

Made Simple is the TEDxAthens format for making hard things clear. We took five of the least-understood ideas in the energy transition and gave each one its own short episode, hosted by the actress Mandalena Papadatou — a presenter, not an executive.

The tone is curious rather than corporate: the biodiesel episode opens by asking what happens to cooking oil if you don’t pour it down the sink, and ends up at Indian elephants.

The brand pays for the series; it does not appear in it.

Public curiosity about the energy transition is not evenly distributed, and knowing where it concentrates is worth as much as the reach itself.

The proof

Unlike an activation, this doesn’t end when the lights go down.

The series remains published and searchable, still answering the same questions for anyone who arrives looking. A partner’s investment keeps working long after the campaign window closed.
